My journey to health & fitness started at a young age at little athletics where husband David and I used to compete. We were just young kids. We married young, set goals for ourselves and family to lead a healthy lifestyle and keep fit.
Encouraged by David,s distance running I was encouraged  to get back into running after having three children and being overweight. Training was done at night under the street lights so no one could see me.

Feeling better within myself, eating habits changed to vegetarian, losing 20 kg in three months. No more training in the dark now. I joined the running club once again and became a competitive runner over road and cross country race distances. While watching David run a marathon, I was inspired by the race leading women runners running sub 3 hour for the marathon distance. Goals were set to do the same. One year later I was among the race leading women with a best time of 2 hr 46.
 The high intensity training and racing over the marathon distance had a toll on my energy and general fatigue levels. I soon discovered that the more healthy and raw foods I ate, the more energy I had. This led to a gradual change to my present raw plant based diet.

By having a natural state diet and cutting out processed foods high in sugar, cravings stopped. Energy levels increased and a general wellness feeling allowed me to do my high level marathon training, work full time and run a family home bringing up three children.

My clean eating journey led me to create my own recipes for fun. After positive feedback and requests for recipes from friends and family the time was right to create this book.
